Transformation of Digital Business: Tealium Digital Velocity Europe 2017

On June 6th & 7th, digital marketers and technology mavericks met up at the iconic London Landmark Hotel for Tealium’s Digital Velocity.

Here is our quick recap:

New partnership era 

The new "Tealmall" experience was certainly a hit with guests. Five commerce-themed stalls were ready and waiting fully stocked with swag items - from backpacks and laptop sleeves to t-shirts and penny sweets - for attendees to pre-orderin the app. Conversations flowed as people collected their items and many fruitful discussions began. 

But Tealium and Decibel Insight didn't stop there - Tealmall provided the perfect opportunity to show off our growing partnership and integration. Using data from a) beacons placed around the venue and b) the swag collection app, Decibel Insight were able to visualize the most visited areas of the mall and partner pavilion using our real-time dynamic heatmaps. Inspiring keynote 

Baronness Karren Brady of Knightsbridge CBE set a high bar for the day ahead as she captured the audience's attention with tales of how she built a successful career, and the six key criteria she looks for in strong management.

Transformation as a reality 

Jeff Lunsford, CEO of Tealium, said "Digital transformation  is about two things; it’s about taking a customer-centred approach and it’s about doing things in real-time. It’s difficult to know your customer, but the best companies are actually engaging their customer on an individual level, because they’re listening to the data."

Kerry Dawes, Head of Personalisation and Optimisation at The Rank Group, echoed this as she took the audience on a journey of how she completely transformed the company's digital presence in under 12 months. 

When Dawes took on the team in 2016, she found a lack of basic analytics programs and  was contending with HiPPOs in the company to direct her campaigns. Building a strong integrated stack - including Decibel Insight's digital experience analytics platform to capture an accurate picture of every user’s on-page experience - her findings informed over 50 A/B tests, creating an uplift of £2.5million in additional revenue and 400% in ROI.
